Job description

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc (MTSI) is hiring a Research and Development Engineer (Infrared) in Dayton, OH. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain a CI Polygraph.
Responsibilities:
• Provide expertise in infrared target signatures to support critical projects within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC).
• Apply deep technical knowledge of EO/IR sensor data and phenomenology to model, simulate, and analyze infrared signatures of complex systems.
• Work in a dynamic R&D environment where innovation and collaboration are highly valued.
• Utilize high-fidelity IR signature modeling applications and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in the field.
• Experience working with EO/IR sensor data.
• Strong knowledge of space-based EO/IR sensor phenomenology.
• Proficiency in using high-fidelity IR signature modeling applications.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced R&D environment.
• Strong communication skills capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and departments, while also being self-sufficient when needed.
Desired Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Materials Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics
• Advanced experience in GEOINT processing research and development.
• Extensive experience with DoD EO/IR sensor data.
• Expertise in modeling and simulating advanced foreign weapon systems' signatures.
Clearance Requirements:
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
