Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of clients to assess the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms, ensuring an accurate understanding of each individualโ€™s needs.
  • Collaborate with clients to design personalized treatment plans that align with their unique goals and preferences, incorporating feedback and regular evaluations.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to deliver effective treatment interventions.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care techniques to empower them in their recovery journey.
  • Monitor client progress meticulously, adapting treatment strategies and plans as necessary to respond to evolving needs and feedback.
  • Engage in integrated care practices by collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and comprehensive treatment approaches.
  • Stay abreast of current research and advancements in the field of mood disorders to continuously enhance therapeutic practices and client care.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of client interactions and treatment protocols in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in routine team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development workshops to refine skills and share best practices.
  • Advocate for clientsโ€™ mental health needs and work to reduce stigma associated with mental health challenges, fostering a supportive atmosphere for those seeking help.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with individuals suffering from mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, you will provide support to marginalized populations including homeless individuals, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse. Your commitment to compassionate care will be essential as you help clients navigate their emotional landscapes and work toward healing and resilience.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a current and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A masterโ€™s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field is required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding, providing a nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their experiences and emotions.
