Job description

Tri-State Traffic Data Inc. is looking to hire Traffic Data Field Technicians to conduct short term traffic counts. 
Tri-State Traffic Data was awarded a NYSDOT contract to collect traffic counts at various locations throughout the Mid/Lower Hudson Valley Region. In general, not farther then a 2 Hour radius of Utica, NY. The counters are normally set on a weekly basis, and remain out for 72 hours minimum, and then picked up by the crew.

There may be additional work at times conducting video based turning movement counts.  This work entails setting traffic cameras out to record traffic passing through intersections or mid block locations.
Candidates should be:
-Reliable, responsible, organized, trustworthy & punctual.
-Have strong computer skills.
-Be physically fit and able to move quickly when necessary while working in the roadway.
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
-Not adverse to working outdoors in all types of weather.
-Able to work independently once fully trained managing all field and administrative aspects of the job.

Benefits for the position include a company vehicle, year end performance bonus, gas card and credit card for expenses. If hired after the temporary training period, we also offer a Simple IRA savings plan, paid vacation / holidays and reimbursement for health insurance.
All major summer holidays (Memorial Day/July 4th/Labor Day) are off.
The NYSDOT work season is January thru November 15 with other types of work available into December. Work is not permitted when snow will impact travel patterns.
