Job Summary:
Tesla is a leading company in innovative battery manufacturing and is seeking a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer to enhance supplier manufacturing systems. The role involves developing and improving Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and ensuring data integrity between suppliers and Tesla, while collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers.
Responsibilities:
• Assess supplier manufacturing systems and identify gaps in MES, traceability, and data integrity
• Design, implement, or improve MES solutions at supplier sites to support production workflows and genealogy tracking
• Develop and maintain data pipelines (APIs, ETL) to enable reliable data transfer between supplier systems and Tesla
• Build and manage cloud-based databases for collecting and storing supplier production and equipment data
• Analyze high-volume manufacturing data to generate insights on production performance, quality, and process stability and predict the impact of supplier materials on the cell performance, utilizing strong statistics knowledge
• Create dashboards and visualization tools to monitor supplier KPIs and support cross-functional decision making
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to deploy scalable, secure, and reliable software and data solutions
Qualifications:
Required:
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in MES or manufacturing systems, Preferred 8 years
• Hands-on experience with MES implementation, customization, or integration in manufacturing environments
• Strong programming and data skills (e.g., Python, SQL) statistics knowledge, and experience with APIs or ETL pipelines
• Experience with database systems (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, or similar) and data modeling
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including workflows, traceability, and quality systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers in a fast-paced environment
• Work well under pressure while collaborating and managing competing demands with tight deadlines
