Job Summary:
TELUS Health is empowering individuals to lead healthier lives through innovative technology. The Portfolio Program Manager will oversee the governance and program management of TELUS Health's product portfolio, ensuring clarity and consistency while supporting organic growth.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Establish enterpriseโ€‘wide visibility into what products exist, where they are available, and how they fit together
โ€ข Enable leadership and commercial teams to clearly see crossโ€‘sell and upsell opportunities across the portfolio
โ€ข Reduce fragmentation through consistent portfolio governance and operating discipline
โ€ข Support profitable organic growth by ensuring products are positioned and understood as a connected portfolio, not isolated offerings
โ€ข Create repeatable, scalable structures that support longโ€‘term growth
โ€ข Design and run the Product Council as a governance and alignment forum
โ€ข Set agendas, coordinate inputs, document decisions, and track actions
โ€ข Ensure consistent, structured updates from all product teams
โ€ข Maintain clarity on decision rights, ownership, and escalation paths
โ€ข Create and maintain enterpriseโ€‘level portfolio visibility, including:
โ€ข A global inventory of products and services
โ€ข Where products are launched and available by region
โ€ข Product maturity, versions, and constraints
โ€ข Coordinate structured product reviews with Product Experts to:
โ€ข Ensure clarity on product status, readiness, and roadmap health
โ€ข Maintain consistent documentation across the portfolio
โ€ข Surface overlaps, gaps, or underโ€‘leveraged capabilities
โ€ข Support identification of crossโ€‘sell and upsell opportunities by:
โ€ข Highlighting where products naturally complement each other
โ€ข Making visible which products are used together by similar customer segments
โ€ข Surfacing portfolio insights for Commercial, Marketing, and Strategy teams
โ€ข Ensuring crossโ€‘portfolio opportunities are visible in Product Council discussions
โ€ข Maintain the crossโ€‘portfolio launch and release calendar to:
โ€ข Provide forward visibility into upcoming releases and enhancements
โ€ข Identify sequencing risks or dependencies that impact portfolio plays
โ€ข Inform, but not own, goโ€‘toโ€‘market and activation planning
โ€ข Enable clarity on productโ€‘toโ€‘segment fit by:
โ€ข Coordinating inputs between Product and Marketing
โ€ข Maintaining a clear view of which products serve which customer segments
โ€ข Flagging inconsistencies or ambiguity that limit portfolio selling
โ€ข Ensure governance standards are followed, without owning execution:
โ€ข Track readiness against agreed criteria
โ€ข Flag risks, misalignment, or gaps
โ€ข Enable resolution through appropriate product or regional owners
โ€ข Act as a central coordination point across Product, Marketing, Commercial, CSM, and Regions:
โ€ข Communicate portfolioโ€‘level updates
โ€ข Enable consistent understanding of portfolio structure and opportunities
โ€ข Reduce duplication and confusion across teams
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข 5+ yearsโ€™ experience in program management, portfolio management, product operations, or PMOโ€‘type roles
โ€ข Proven experience coordinating complex, crossโ€‘functional initiatives without direct authority
โ€ข Strong understanding of governance models, operating rhythms, and structured decisionโ€‘making
โ€ข Ability to identify patterns, overlaps, and opportunities across portfolios
โ€ข Comfort working at the intersection of Product, Marketing, Customer, and Commercial teams
โ€ข Excellent organisational, facilitation, and communication skills
โ€ข Experience bringing clarity to ambiguous, matrixed environments
โ€ข Experience in health, digital health, SaaS, or large multiโ€‘product organisations is an advantage
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience supporting crossโ€‘sell or portfolioโ€‘selling initiatives from a coordination or enablement perspective
โ€ข Experience running governance forums, councils, or steering groups
โ€ข Exposure to goโ€‘toโ€‘market or launch readiness processes (nonโ€‘owning role)
โ€ข Experience working with global or multiโ€‘region product portfolios
