Job description

The IT Operations Technician is responsible for providing technical support, equipment maintenance, and day-to-day IT services throughout Patriot Healthcare. This position assists with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, phones, network equipment, and business applications.

The IT Operations Technician serves as a primary point of contact for employee technology needs and works closely with the Director of Information Technology and IT Operations Administrator to maintain reliable and secure technology services. This position plays an important role in minimizing disruptions, maintaining accurate technology records, and helping employees effectively use the systems and equipment necessary to provide high-quality care and business services.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Equipment Installation and Setup:

• Install and configure laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, phones, scanners, and related equipment.

• Prepare and deploy equipment for new employees according to established IT standards and procedures.

• Assist with equipment installation and technology setup at Patriot Healthcare locations.

• Maintain accurate equipment assignments and inventory records.

Maintenance and Repair:

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of company-owned technology.

• Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, printing, mobile-device, and connectivity issues.

IT Operations Technician

• Coordinate repairs, replacements, warranty services, and equipment retirement, as necessary.

• Apply approved software and operating-system updates using established procedures.

Technical Support:

• Provide first-line technical support to Patriot Healthcare employees.

• Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications, Windows devices, mobile devices, printers, phones, remote-access tools, and approved business applications.

• Assist employees with password resets, multifactor authentication, application access, and other common account issues.

• Escalate complex system, network, security, or application issues when additional administrative access or technical expertise is required.

• Assist employees with the effective and appropriate use of company technology.

User and Device Administration:

• Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including account setup, licensing, device deployment, equipment recovery, and approved access changes.

• Maintain accurate user, device, telephone, inventory, and assignment information.

• Perform routine group membership and user-information updates according to approved requests and procedures.

• Support mobile-device enrollment, application installation, and established device-management processes.

Network and Communications Support:

• Assist with troubleshooting wired, wireless, Internet, VPN, telephone, and other connectivity issues.

• Support installation and maintenance of network cabling, phones, printers, and related office equipment.

• Perform documented connectivity and service checks during outages and escalate infrastructure issues as appropriate.

• Assist with e-fax, telecommunications, and other approved communication services.

Orientation and Staff Training:

• Conduct IT orientation for new employees and introduce staff to company technology, security expectations, and support procedures.

• Provide basic training and assistance with Microsoft applications, mobile devices, cybersecurity awareness, and other commonly used systems.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of equipment installations, repairs, assignments, replacements, and recurring technical issues.

• Follow and assist with maintaining IT procedures, checklists, inventories, and support documentation.

• Document unusual or recurring problems and escalate them to the IT Operations Administrator or Director of Information Technology.

• Follow established security, privacy, and regulatory requirements when handling company systems and information.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

• Previous experience in technical support, helpdesk, desktop support, or a related role preferred.

• Working knowledge of Windows computers, Microsoft 365, iOS and iPadOS, mobile devices, printers, and common business applications.

• Basic understanding of networking, user accounts, permissions, and cybersecurity practices.

• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to assist users of varying technical skill levels.

• Ability to follow documented procedures, work independently on routine assignments, and recognize when escalation is appropriate.

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Frequent standing, walking, and bending.

• Ability to travel to different hospice locations as needed.

Work Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call duties as needed. This position will require travel across the state of SC.
