PURPOSE/SUMMARY

The Spa at Holbrook Woodstock is seeking a highly skilled, licensed, and passionate Paramedical Tattooist and Permanent Makeup (PMU) Artist to join our luxury spa team. This position offers an entrepreneurial opportunity within a luxury spa environment, supported by Holbrook's facility, marketing resources, operational infrastructure, and resident community.

The ideal candidate specializes in advanced paramedical procedures (e.g., scar camouflage, areola restoration, paramedical tattooing) alongside high-end permanent cosmetics, delivering transformative results that align with Holbrook's uncompromising standards of luxury and client care.


RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Clinical & Service Excellence

Deliver high-quality permanent makeup and advanced paramedical tattooing services (e.g., areola reconstruction, scar/stretch mark camouflage, cleft lip symmetry, vitiligo concealment, microblading, powder brows, and eyeliner).

Conduct thorough, empathetic client consultations to assess skin type, medical history, aesthetic goals, candidacy for services, and color theory matching.

Review referrals, medical clearances, supporting medical documentation, and client eligibility information when applicable prior to performing restorative tattoo procedures.

Services involving areola restoration, scar camouflage, post-surgical restoration, reconstructive tattooing, or other restorative tattoo procedures may require physician referral, medical clearance, supporting medical documentation, or treatment authorization in accordance with payer requirements, client medical history, or approved clinical protocols.

Maintain accurate, detailed client records, including intake forms, treatment notes, mapping diagrams, pigment records, informed consent forms, physician orders when applicable, and before-and-after photography within Holbrook's systems.

Maintain all required informed consent forms, medical history questionnaires, referrals, medical clearances, supporting documentation, aftercare instructions, and treatment records within the client record.

Provide comprehensive pre-care and post-care education to clients to ensure optimal healing and long-term retention.

Screen clients for contraindications and refer clients to the appropriate healthcare provider when findings or concerns fall outside the practitioner's scope of practice.

Assist clients seeking insurance reimbursement by providing treatment documentation and service records as permitted; however, the practitioner shall not guarantee insurance coverage, reimbursement, or payment determinations.

Maintain professional standards of practice and perform services consistent with applicable laws, regulations, certifications, and organizational policies

2. Sanitation & Regulatory Compliance

Maintain a pristine, organized, and highly professional treatment room that meets or exceeds all local and state biomedical safety standards.

Strictly adhere to OSHA standards, Bloodborne Pathogens protocols, infection prevention and control guidelines, and all rules established by the Georgia Department of Public Health and applicable local health authorities.

Ensure proper disposal of biohazardous waste and sharps in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Keep all individual professional licenses, health permits, and certifications active and up to date.

Participate in quality assurance, compliance, infection prevention, risk management, and documentation review activities as required by Holbrook.

Comply with all Holbrook policies related to documentation, infection control, privacy, risk management, and professional conduct.

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client health information, photographs, and treatment records.

3. Client Experience & Brand Representation

Represent The Spa at Holbrook professionally, providing a warm, polished, compassionate, and luxury-level client experience.

Collaborate with the front desk reception team to ensure seamless client scheduling, check-ins, transitions, retail opportunities, and re-booking processes.

Foster long-term client relationships through exceptional service, education, communication, and follow-up care.

Demonstrates sensitivity and professionalism when serving older adults, individuals with disabilities, oncology survivors, post-surgical clients, and other special populations.

Immediately reports safety concerns, incidents, adverse reactions, injuries, or client complaints in accordance with Holbrook policies.

Serve as a positive ambassador for Holbrook's mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

4. Scope of Practice Standards

Practice only within the scope of applicable education, certification, licensure, training, and organizational policy.

Do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe treatment, alter medical treatment plans, or represent cosmetic or restorative tattoo services as medical treatment unless operating under an approved physician-directed protocol.

Responsible for obtaining and maintaining all required client consents, medical history information, referrals, medical clearances, and supporting documentation when required by policy, payer requirements, or approved clinical protocols.

Do not guarantee insurance reimbursement, insurance coverage determinations, or payment by third-party payers.

Services involving restorative tattooing, including areola restoration and scar camouflage, shall be performed in accordance with approved protocols and applicable regulatory requirements. Physician referrals, medical clearances, and supporting documentation may be required based upon client circumstances, payer requirements, or organizational policy.

Clients seeking insurance reimbursement for restorative tattooing services may be required to obtain physician documentation, referral information, or other supporting records to support claims submission. The provider is responsible for maintaining such documentation in the client record when applicable


QUALIFICATIONS

Pre-Hire: Must be at least 18 years old. Successful completion of all pre-employment screening requirements, including background checks, reference verification, and any other screenings required by Holbrook policy.

Education & Licensing: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must hold all licenses, permits, registrations, and certifications required to perform cosmetic and paramedical tattooing services within the State of Georgia and applicable county jurisdictions.

Certifications: Current Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) certification required prior to start date. Current CPR certification is required. Current First Aid certification required. Permanent Makeup and/or Microblading certification are required based on appropriate to services offered. Ongoing continuing education as required by applicable regulatory agencies and industry best practices.

Experience: Prior professional experience in advanced permanent makeup (PMU) and paramedical tattooing (e.g., areola restoration, scar camouflage) required. Experience in a luxury spa, medical spa, or high-end hospitality environment is highly preferred. Experience working with post-mastectomy clients, oncology patients, reconstructive procedures, scar revision, medical aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, wound care, or wellness environments preferred.

Continuing Education: Must maintain all continuing education requirements necessary for licensure, certification, and professional practice. Expected to participate in ongoing education and skills development to remain current with industry standards, safety requirements, infection control practices, and advancements in paramedical tattooing and permanent cosmetics.

Technical Portfolio: A comprehensive, professional portfolio demonstrating clean, high-quality, and healed results across both permanent cosmetics and paramedical skin therapies must be presented during the interview process.

Software & Systems: Prior experience with retail or spa POS (Point of Sale) systems preferred. Familiarity with hospitality, medical spa, EMR, or spa scheduling platforms preferred.

Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively. Exceptional capacity for empathetic, clear, professional, and clinically appropriate client consultations.

Hospitality Mindset: Strong customer service mindset with a polished, professional, and client-first approach tailored to a luxury lifestyle community.

Precision & Sanitation: Ability to work efficiently while maintaining absolute clinical accuracy, immaculate room cleanliness, strict infection control protocols, and meticulous attention to detail.
