Systems & Software Engineering (Missile Defense) Location: Moorestown, NJ
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Employment Type: Full-time, W2
Apex Systems is hiring Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, and Test Engineers to support the U.S. Navyโ€™s AEGIS Weapon System, the most deployed combat system in the world. This program delivers global, multi-domain missile defense capability and requires engineers across multiple specialties. Candidates will be evaluated and placed into the best-fitting role based on experience and technical strengths. Role Overview
You will support the development, integration, and testing of advanced radar, sensor, and weapon system technologies. Work spans software development, modeling & simulation, systems engineering, and algorithm development. Candidates with backgrounds in digital signal processing, radar engineering, systems engineering, or software development are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain system requirements, design documentation, and test artifacts using MBSE tools such as Rhapsody, SysML, or Cameo
Perform system analysis, algorithm design, and modeling/simulation for radar, sensor, and electronic warfare systems
Support integration & test events, troubleshooting anomalies in lab or operational environments
Contribute to software development and defect correction using C++, Python, and MATLAB
Collaborate across engineering teams to design, validate, and deliver mission-critical system functionality
Maintain quality and configuration control for all MBSE and engineering artifacts Basic Qualifications
Candidates must bring experience in at least one of the following tracks: Systems Engineering Track Proficiency with MATLAB for modeling, analysis, or signal processing
Experience with requirements development, functional decomposition, or interface definition Software Engineering Track Proficiency with C++ for embedded, realโ€‘time, or mission system software development
Experience with software debugging, integration, or algorithm implementation General Requirements Experience with Python, Java, or Matlab
Familiarity with Linux/UNIX operating systems
Fundamental knowledge of radar, electronic warfare, or sensor systems
Experience in system analysis, modeling & simulation, or algorithm development
Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer interaction skills Desired Skills Background in radar control algorithms, target discrimination, predictive filtering (e.g., Kalman), or DSP/image processing
Experience with radar modeling and performance analysis tools
Experience with DOORS for requirements and test management
