Job description

Finetco is a family-owned construction design and supply corporation with locations in Coventry, Rhode Island, Wareham, Massachusetts, and West Haven, Connecticut. The warehouse/yard worker reports directly to the operations manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Loading company vehicles in accordance with delivery invoices, which require lifting, and carrying merchandise, lumber, and building materials.
  • Pulling orders for deliveries.
  • Unloading company vehicles.
  • Prepare customer orders by collecting and retrieving merchandise/materials from storage areas in the yard.
  • Occasionally ride with the driver to the job site to help unload.
  • Ensure that inventory is consistently up to date and notify the supervisor of shortages and restocking needs.
  • Treat customers, contractors, and team members in a courteous, considerate, and cooperative manner.
  • Participate in the cleanliness of the facility during downtime, such as emptying trash bins, picking up lumber clubs, flat stocking, and any other related duties.
  • Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and stock merchandise as necessary.
  • Adhere to all approved company policies and procedures.
  • Report customer complaints to the Operations Manager/Supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications include:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic reading skills
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Prior lumber yard experience is a plus
  • Prior building materials experience is a plus

Schedule

Monday to Friday 7 AM to 5 PM and Saturday 7 AM to 12 PM (subject to change based on volume)
