Job Title: Pilot Plan Technician L1
Location: Dallas, TX
Department: Pilot Plant Operations
Reports To: Ops Manager (Demo Plant)
Position Summary
The Pilot Plant Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining chemical process equipment such as pumps, reactors, and mixers, ensuring optimal process conditions through careful monitoring of gauges, flowmeters, and control panels. Key duties include conducting quality control tests, recording operational data, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and adhering to safety protocols. The individual must work closely with team members to ensure smooth plant operations, demonstrate a strong understanding of chemistry and process control systems, and possess excellent attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and communication skills. The Technician Career path consists of progressive levels that reflect increasing technical skill, operational independence, problem-solving capability, ownership of production equipment/processes, and leadership responsibility.

What We Hope You Bring
· Basic understanding of chemistry or willingness to learn
· Familiarity with industrial equipment or mechanical systems (preferred)
· Ability to follow written procedures and safety guidelines
· Strong attention to detail and reliability
· Basic mechanical aptitude
· Good communication and teamwork skills
· Willingness to learn Lean/5S practices
· 2 years of experience in manufacturing, chemical processing or related environment
How You Will Make an Impact
• Equipment operation: Operate pumps, reactors, and mixers following established procedures and guidance from senior staff
• Process monitoring: Monitor gauges, flowmeters, and control panels and report deviations
• Sampling & quality checks: Collect samples and assist with basic quality checks as directed
• Data recording: Accurately record process data such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates
• Safety compliance: Follow all safety procedures, use proper PPE, and report unsafe conditions
• Basic maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, inspections, and simple maintenance tasks
• Troubleshooting support: Assist in identifying & correcting issues and escalate problems to senior technicians or engineers
• Team collaboration: Work closely with team members to support daily plant operations
