Job description

The Scribe accompanies attending physicians in order to document the patient encounter allowing contemporaneous completion of history and physical examination.

Required Education: High School Diploma / GED. Medical or Healthcare Management Courses
Required Experience: Intermediate computer knowledge. Interest in medicine. Proficient typing. Great listening skills. Attention to detail
Preferred Experience: Experience in use of EMR (electronic medical record) system

Accurately document the patient encounter to include but not limited to history physical examination treatments and procedures performed
Checks for any incomplete charts at the end of the shift
Completes required documentation within a reasonable time frame
Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with other departments
Displays and promoted a positive public relations approach to staff, physicians, patient's family, and public
Track and enter lab results radiography and EKG Interpretations progress notes procedures and consultations into the EMR
Maintains confidentiality of patient data according to policies
Promotes cohesiveness in the working environment
May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time
