VTG is seeking a Welder to work in our Fabrication Shop in Virginia Beach.
What will you do?
- Welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Measures, marks, and scribes layout on metals.
- Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
- Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts.
- Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
- Utilizes hand tools such as grinders, drills, needle guns, saws, calipers, scribes, combination squares.
- Verifies conformance of fabricated layouts and items to the blueprint specifications.
- Operate all machines in discipline.
