Harrimans at Salamander Middleburg, located within a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond luxury resort, is seeking an exceptional Restaurant General Manager to lead our award-winning fine dining restaurant.

This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished hospitality leader with a passion for luxury service, fine dining, wine-focused experiences, and team development. We are seeking a visible, hands-on leader who understands how to create memorable guest experiences while driving operational excellence and financial performance.

Candidates with experience in Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five Diamond, Michelin-recognized, Relais & Châteaux, luxury resort, luxury hotel, country club, or destination fine dining environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

Position Summary

The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and success of Harrimans, including restaurant operations, guest satisfaction, service standards, team development, financial performance, and daily execution.

This role requires a leader who is highly engaged on the dining room floor, coaches in real time, builds strong teams, and consistently delivers exceptional guest experiences while maintaining the highest luxury hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of fine dining restaurant operations and guest experience.
• Champion Forbes Five-Star service standards and ensure consistent execution across all service touchpoints.
• Maintain a strong floor presence during service periods and lead by example.
• Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and develop restaurant managers and service professionals.
• Partner closely with Culinary Leadership and the Sommelier team to deliver seamless dining experiences.
• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, teamwork, and service excellence.
• Drive revenue growth, profitability, and operational performance.
• Manage labor costs, scheduling, payroll, inventory, and expense controls.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and P&L performance.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and lead service recovery efforts when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with Forbes standards, health regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
• Prepare teams for luxury audits, mystery inspections, and quality assurance reviews.
• Maintain exceptional standards for food presentation, beverage service, wine service, and dining room appearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of progressive leadership experience in fine dining restaurant operations.
• Previous experience as a Restaurant General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Director of Restaurants, Dining Room Manager, or Food & Beverage Manager.
• Experience within Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five Diamond, Michelin-recognized, Relais & Châteaux, luxury resort, luxury hotel, private club, or destination fine dining environments strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of luxury hospitality, fine dining service, wine programs, guest engagement, and service excellence.
• Proven leadership experience managing high-performing restaurant teams.
• Strong financial acumen including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, payroll oversight, inventory management, and cost control.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and retain talented hospitality professionals.
• Exceptional guest recovery, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working within audit-driven service environments and maintaining luxury hospitality standards.
• Polished professional presence and leadership style.
