Associate Grant & Resource Development Administrator

ย Position Overview

The Associate Grant & Resource Development Administrator is a mid-level leadership role responsible for managing the full grant lifecycle, including pre-award, post-award, compliance, reporting, and portfolio oversight. This role includes direct supervision of at least one staff member and functions as a cross-functional partner across Finance, Compliance, and program leadership.

Aย critical requirementย isย hands-on HUD federal housing grant experience, including CDBG and ESG programs. Candidates must have direct experience managing HUD grants such as renewals, modifications, compliance, deliverables, and reporting.

This role also requires strong technical proficiency, leadership ability, and exceptional relationship management skills. The individual will serve as a key liaison to county, state, and federal partners, ensuring strong external engagement and responsiveness.

ย Key Responsibilities

  • Lead administration of federal, state, and local grants (HUD CDBG, ESG, CoC, BOS)
  • Serve as lead for HUD NOFO grant writing and submissions
  • Oversee full grant lifecycle: timelines, deliverables, compliance, and reporting
  • Manage grant portfolio tracking and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and spend-down strategies
  • Supervise and develop Grant Coordinator(s)
  • Maintain compliance with all HUD and funding requirements
  • Lead audit responses, monitoring, and reporting requirements
  • Manage contracts, amendments, MOUs, and grant documentation
  • Serve as primary point of contact for funders and external stakeholders
  • Ensure proactive communication, escalation, and follow-through across teams

ย Leadership & Collaboration

  • Direct supervision of at least one Grant Coordinator
  • Work closely with Project Management, Finance, Compliance, and program teams
  • Responsible for workload distribution, performance oversight, and team development
  • Acts as an organizational liaison for external funders and government partners

ย Minimum Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s Degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Business, Social Work, Healthcare, or related field
  • 7+ years of grants management experience
  • 5+ years direct HUD housing grant experience (REQUIRED)
  • Experience with:
  • HUD NOFO process
  • CDBG & ESG programs
  • CoC and BOS grants
  • Background in nonprofit or grant-funded environments

ย Required Skills & Technical Proficiency

  • Strong knowledge of HUD regulations and federal compliance standards
  • Experience with grant systems (e.g., SAGE, eRA Commons)
  • Advanced Excel and reporting/data tracking skills
  • Strong technical proficiency with grant management and reporting platforms
  • Budgeting, financial coordination, and forecasting experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem-solving ability
  • High accountability with strong follow-through and responsiveness
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex grant portfolios
