This position is located in Avon, IN.

Job Purpose:
The Project Controls Analyst supports financial and operational performance across elevated water tower construction projects by providing cost tracking, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical insights. This role acts as a liaison between project management, field operations, and finance to ensure accurate cost control across specialized, long-duration projects.
Description of Essential Duties:
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts across engineering, fabrication, coating, and erection phases.
  • Track cost drivers, including material, labor, subsistence, coatings, equipment usage, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and prepare financial reports to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly job cost reports, including percent complete compared to percentage of cost incurred and estimated cost to completion.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication.
  • Perform variance analysis and identify risks such as weather delays or productivity issues.
  • Monitor and analyze project schedules, ensuring that all tasks are properly sequenced and resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Support budgeting and project setup with baseline cost structures.
  • Analyze productivity metrics such as shop and field labor efficiency.
  • Collaborate with estimating, project managers, superintendents, and accounting teams.
  • Develop dashboards and improve project control systems.
  • Analyze credit card spending for policy exceptions and other anomalies.
  • Overhead cost analysis by department and type.
  • Contribution to project margin improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or Construction Management.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in construction, structural steel, or industrial projects preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP / job costing systems (Sage 100 preferred).
  • Familiarity with Power PI or Tableau is a plus.
