Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

At the direction of the Director of Cannabis Operations for Northern Light Cannabis Company in Dafter, Michigan. The Office Manager will ensure the day-to-day operations of the office, accounting, retail, inventory and distribution operations. The Office Manager will also act as a back-up to the Operations Manager position. The Office Manager will assist with carrying out all store operations, including, but not limited to, store, office, accounting, and distributing operations, inventory, customer service, store appearance and displays, safety, customer complaints and comments and employee interactions, and by performing other functions as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provides exemplary customer service, while being prompt and professional.
  2. Performs all duties of the Budtender, as needed (see Budtender position description).
  3. Performs all duties of a Distribution Specialist/Clerk, as needed. (See Distribution Specialist/Clerk position description).
  4. Ensure the store is opened, closed, and run while efficiently following all protocols. Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standard.
  5. Assist in the daily supervision and training of Budtenders, Distribution Clerks and Team Members.
  6. Provide education for staff about cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates, and consumption mechanisms.
  7. Assists the Director of Cannabis Operations, with the timely and accurate filing or forwarding of day-to-day paperwork, including Human Resources, Accounting, and Kronos forms and documents.
  8. Ensures the proper orientation, training and performance of new staff.
  9. Stay up to date on all POS updates and releases, and communicate changes to staff.
  10. Ensure NLCC remains compliant with security, inventory, federal and tribal regulations.
  11. Ensure the correct and compliant inventory of all bulk, prepackaged, and packaged items in the tribal monitoring system.
  12. Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and strains within the facility, as well as industry-wide product knowledge.
  13. Deal with issues that arise from employees or customers (complaints, grievances etc.)
  14. Maintains a strong level of communication with the Director of Cannabis Operations to ensure continuity of effort, goal and objective completion, problem identification and resolution and professional growth.
  15. Attend all staff meetings, take detailed notes, and ensure effective communication on action items.
  16. Keep up to date with Northern Light Cannabis Company policies and procedures at the direction of the Marijuana Commission, Executive Council and/or Director of Cannabis Operations.
  17. Responsible for learning and following daily policies and procedures for the Bay Mills Business Holdings and NLCC.
  18. Must attend all mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Director of Cannabis Operations.
  19. Completes all required reports and paperwork accurately and promptly.
  20. Accounting Duties - Process all check requests, reconcile all debit card charges, ensure both digital and hardcopy filing systems are always up to date. Process routine departmental paperwork for Retail, Distribution, Grow and General Administration Departments. Keep files organized, both digitally and physically utilizing proper naming conventions. Review time and tip sheets of Budtenders and Team Members, and send to proper parties. Ensure info entered into Sage is accurate.
  21. Inventory - Fill out product request forms. Create profit margin workbooks for each suggested purchase. Oversee all inventory sales and product orders, maintain vendor relationships and product (in-store) placement. Coordinate product for events, provide insight on brand development, and understand customer needs and wants for a first-class consumer experience. Establish inventory par levels for each department, inventory purchasing schedule, and purchasing equipment and supplies for NLCC.
  22. Follow-up on Customer Comments and Complaints.
  23. Assist the Operations Manager, as needed. (See Operations Manager position description).
  24. Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position's essential functions.
