We'll look for you to bring your diverse perspectives, ideas, and skill-sets to make Prime Video even better for our customers

With global opportunities for talented technologists, you can decide where a career Prime Video Tech takes you!
Prime Video Ads is looking for a Principal Product Manager - Technical to help define and launch new ad formats and viewer experiences that will change how advertisers engage with streaming audiences around the world. As a Prime Video Ads technologist, you'll have end-to-end ownership of the product, user experience, design, and technology required to deliver state-of-the-art ad experiences for our customers. You'll get to work on projects that are fast-paced, challenging, and varied.

You'll also be able to experiment with new possibilities, take risks, and collaborate with remarkable people.
Our team is driving innovation in areas like interactive video ads, pause ads, and live sports advertising-and we're looking for passionate product leaders to help us invent what comes next. As a Principal PMT, you will invent, improve, and drive new ad format experiences from end to end, to surprise and delight both customers and advertisers alike. You'll work across Prime Video Ads, Prime Video, and the broader Amazon Ads organization to conceptualize, experiment, launch, and scale products that balance viewer experience quality with advertiser effectiveness.
You must have strong business judgment, customer obsession, and be technical with a passion for streaming and digital advertising. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves and get the job done

You leverage mental models and data-driven decision making, and can effectively communicate verbally, and in writing, with leaders of all levels.
Desired experience for the role includes:
Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
Experience in digital advertising, ad tech, or ad-supported media products, including understanding of ad serving, targeting, measurement, and the broader ad tech ecosystem
Experience working with AI/ML technologies to build product experiences, particularly in how AI can enable or enhance new product capabilities
Proven ability to make smart features versus time-to-market trade-offs; experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value
Key job responsibilities
Define and own the multi-year product vision and strategy for ad formats and viewer experience innovation in Prime Video Live Sports, driving clarity in ambiguous and undefined opportunity spaces from concept through launch, scale, and iteration
Lead large, complex product initiatives end-to-end with complete independence, including product definition, engineering delivery, and go-to-market - making high-judgment trade-off decisions with long-term platform and business implications
Work across Prime Video Ads, Prime Video, and Amazon Ads organizations to conceptualize, experiment, launch, and scale Live Sports ad products that balance viewer experience quality with advertiser effectiveness, influencing organizational priorities and investment decisions
Drive executive-level alignment and build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across multiple organizations to shape product vision for Live Sports advertising and achieve shared objectives
Partner as a technical peer with engineering, applied science, design, and business teams to deconstruct complex product and technical challenges into clear solutions, evaluating architecture trade-offs and ensuring extensibility and scalability
Identify and define whitespace ad format opportunities in Live Sports by developing deep expertise in viewer behavior, advertiser needs, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies including AI - articulating problems others haven't yet framed
Make sophisticated strategic trade-offs between viewer experience, advertiser value, and business outcomes, applying first-principles reasoning and exercising high judgment when data is incomplete or ambiguous
Design experimentation frameworks and measurement strategies that validate hypotheses, quantify viewer experience impact, and demonstrate advertiser ROI at portfolio scale
Own P&L accountability for Live Sports ad format programs, building and scaling profitable products that deliver meaningful business outcomes and establish competitive advantage for Prime Video
A day in the life
You might start your day reviewing experiment results from a Live Sports ad format test and deciding whether the signal is strong enough to scale or pivot. Mid-morning, you join an architecture review with engineering leadership to evaluate trade-offs in real-time ad delivery for a new format. After lunch, you lead an alignment discussion with senior leaders across Prime Video Ads and Amazon Ads to resolve a prioritization conflict and secure investment for your roadmap

Between meetings, you're analyzing viewer behavior and competitive signals to sharpen a vision document you're drafting for a whitespace opportunity in live sports. You end your day making a judgment call on a trade-off between viewer experience and advertiser value where the data doesn't give you a clean answer - and driving clarity so your cross-functional partners can move forward.
You will operate with autonomy and high visibility, taking on product opportunities that span from strategic thinking to hands-on execution. You will deliver recommendations to senior leadership and drive alignment across levels, functions, and organizations.
