Job Purpose

The Order Management Coordinator supports both warehouse operations and logistics administration by planning and releasing order waves and coordinating shipping activities. This role is responsible for daily review, planning and release of customer orders to ensure efficient workflows and on-time fulfillment. Oversees system-wide visibility, batch releases, and coordination with replenishment teams to maintain continuous operations. The position promotes the company’s core values, fosters strong internal and external relationships, and assists with daily operational and administrative tasks to meet business and customer demands.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and releases order waves based on priority, shipping deadlines, and product availability.
  • Assigns and monitors wave times, staging locations, and pick assignments to maintain balanced workflow across warehouse teams.
  • Review and analyzes daily order volume within the system to prioritize workflow and ensure timely processing.
  • Coordinate with the replenishment team to ensure productivity aligns with wave releases.
  • Maintain a comprehensive overview of open, pending, and released orders to prevent bottlenecks.
  • Monitors wave progress, identifies bottlenecks, and makes real-time workflow adjustments to maintain productivity.
  • Communicates daily workload priorities with warehouse supervisors, logistics teams, and inventory control.
  • Assists Sales team with order priorities and managing cancel dates for orders.
  • Uses Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other software to manage waves and process documentation.
  • Addresses allocation error and order-related discrepancies.
  • Escalates workflow issues promptly to minimize operational disruption.
  • Supports a safe and organized work environment and follows all safety practices.
  • Maintains a focus on continuous learning and development for self and team.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and/or equivalent experience
  • Must have the ability to complete work assignments, which on occasion, extend past 5pm
  • Computer skills desired for operating warehouse management system (WMS)
  • 1-2 years of warehouse experience, preferred
  • Must be able to interpret shipping information
  • Must have the ability to meet warehouse deadlines

Physical requirements

  • Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
  • Good eye-hand coordination and sense of balance
  • Exposure to varied temperatures within warehouse environment
  • Work inside and outside; work around machinery with moving parts and vehicles
  • Carrying, pushing, pulling boxes and items; up to 75-100 lbs, at times.
