Summary/Objective

The Manager, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) is responsible for managing the S&OP process to align customer demand, operational capacity, and financial objectives across the organization. This role leads the weekly S&OP cycle and serves as the primary facilitator of cross-functional alignment between Sales, Operations and Finance to deliver a consensus operating plan that supports customer commitments, optimizes resource utilization, and drives profitable growth.

Essential Functions

  • Own and manage the end to end S&OP process, including data gathering, demand planning, supply planning, reconciliation, and executive review.
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts by customer, service mix, and location using historical data, customer inputs, and market insights.
  • Translate demand forecasts into operational capacity plans, balancing labor, space, equipment, and other constraints across the terminal network.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and tradeoffs between demand and supply; develop scenario analyses and recommendations for leadership decisionm aking.
  • Facilitate cross functional S&OP meetings and executive reviews, ensuring alignment, accountability, and timely escalation of issues.
  • Define, monitor, and report S&OP KPIs including forecast accuracy, capacity utilization, service performance, and financial impact.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure alignment between the operating plan, budget, and mid‑range financial plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop S&OP analysts, providing guidance on forecasting methods, analytics, and process improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement of S&OP tools, data quality, reporting, and automation.
  • Support the development and enforcement of standardized S&OP governance, roles, and operating procedures across Amports.
  • Ad hoc analysis and projects as directed

Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning, forecasting, and capacity planning
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including understanding of cost drivers and trade‑offs
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions and leadership levels
  • Excellent written, verbal, and facilitation skills
  • High proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI)

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports.

Work Environment

Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office, production setting, outdoor/indoor shop environment, or enclosed vehicle with adequate ventilation and protection from extreme weather conditions.

Physical Demands

Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to work with the fingers.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required to support planning cycles and executive reviews.

Travel

Limited travel may be required. Ability to travel freely in US and Mexico is required.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum five (5) of progressive experience in Sales & Operations Planning, demand planning, supply planning, operations, or marketing analytics
  • Experience leading cross functional planning processes in an operational environment

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent)
  • Experience in automotive logistics, terminal operations, or asset intensive service environment
  • Experience with customer service and acting as ag intermediary between operations and customer groups

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
