Job description

Job Title: Marine Yard Foreman
Location: North Portland, OR
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 40-55 hours/week
Salary: $100,000 - $110,000/year
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Marine Yard Foreman to lead and oversee daily operations within a fast-paced shipyard environment in North Portland. This role is responsible for managing labor crews, coordinating equipment and material movement, supporting dry dock operations, and ensuring efficient workflow across multiple trades. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine or heavy industrial environments and a proven ability to lead teams while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and direct daily yard operations, including scheduling and assigning labor crews
  • Oversee material handling, staging, and yard logistics to support production needs
  • Coordinate closely with welders, electricians, fitters, painters, and other trades
  • Support dry dock operations, vessel movements, and overall yard readiness
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, including ABS, OSHA, USCG, and company policies
  • Monitor productivity, workflow efficiency, and quality of work across the yard
  • Operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment as needed
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a shipyard or heavy industrial yard environment (marine experience strongly preferred)
