As Manager of Tax you will be responsible for leading the Company's process for ensuring TheKey complies with required tax regulations for the U.S., and Canada. You will ensure all tax returns are filed in a timely manner. You will partner with outside tax advisors and advise internal departments regarding tax guidance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead all aspects of the Tax practice at TheKey ensuring we comply with required tax regulations for the U.S., Canada, and Australia.

Includes oversight, compliance and tracking of

  • U.S. Federal, Canadian and Australian taxes
  • State, Local and Provincial taxes
  • VAT taxes
  • Property taxes and asset tax basis
  • Tax capital accounts
  • Tax reserves
  • Transfer pricing
  • License renewals

Support merger and acquisition activities

Partner with outside tax advisors to ensure effective compliance with all tax requirements.

Partner with outside tax advisors to prepare quarterly tax provision, annual returns, and all other tax returns.

Be a trusted business partner to various stakeholders within Finance and Accounting and across the company.

Develop, document and ensure compliance with tax policies and control procedures.

Lead or participate in ad-hoc projects.

Additional duties as assigned by your supervisor

Required Skills, Education and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.

CPA or equivalent required.

8+ years of Tax experience, with 4 years in Big 4 public accounting or publicly traded companies with increasing scope of responsibilities.

At least 3 years of experience in leading an accounting team.

Experience working with domestic and international tax required.

Experience in high growth healthcare industry experience preferred.

Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks against competing deadlines.

Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP and tax law, including ability to research and interpret tax literature, establish a position and develop procedures for implementation

Ability to document complex technical guidance and accounting position and effectively present the Company's accounting position both in written and verbal form

Strong project management skills, ability to work independently and multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Experience in designing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of management in the Company and external vendors.

Excellent Excel/spreadsheet skills, competency with MSWord and

PowerPoint.

Hands-on experience with NetSuite preferred.

Team player, strong attention to details and ability to multitask and work with limited supervision and within tight deadlines.

Take initiative, is self-motivated and able to roll up the sleeves to get things done.

Problem-solver and a strong desire to understand the business and improve the processes.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 10-15 pounds

Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time throughout the work day

Ability to use standard office equipment such as personal computer, laptop, telephone, photocopy machine, etc.
