Area Manager- Eastern Region
This is a regional position serving programs throughout Noble and Steuben Counties. Regular travel between program sites is required. Periodic meetings, trainings, and other organizational responsibilities may require reporting to the administrative office in Goshen, Indiana.
Job Summary:
The Area Manager of our Eastern Region oversees the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of teen programming throughout our eastern service area (e.g., Noble, Steuben, and surrounding counties). This position is responsible for supporting high-quality program delivery, developing new partnerships, and supporting expansion of middle and high school programming in communities where services continue to grow.
The Area Manager builds and maintains collaborative relationships with school districts and community partners, provides leadership and support to program staff, and ensures programs operate in alignment with organizational standards. Daily schedules will be determined based on programming needs and may require regular office days at the administrative office located in Goshen, Indiana.
Duties amp; Responsibilities:
Program Operations amp; Quality
  • Oversees the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of middle school and high school programming across assigned sites.
  • Ensures programs are delivered safely, consistently, and in alignment with BGCEC standards, youth development practices, and grant requirement
  • Monitors program quality, attendance, compliance, and required reporting for assigned sites.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels of program supplies, technology, and materials to support daily operations.
School amp; Community Partnerships
  • Serves as the primary liaison with school administrators and community partners to support successful program operations.
  • Cultivates and maintains collaborative relationships with school districts, community organizations, and stakeholders throughout the eastern region.
  • Represents BGCEC professionally while identifying opportunities to strengthen existing partnerships and expand services.
Program Growth amp; Expansion
  • Supports the development and launch of new teen programming opportunities in emerging communities.
  • Collaborates with organizational leadership to assess community needs and implement new program sites and initiatives.
  • Assists with planning and executing expansion efforts while ensuring operational readiness and program quality.
Staff Leadership amp; Development
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and accountability for Youth Development Professional and Lead staff.
  • Oversees staff scheduling, timecard approvals, time off requests, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Responds to staffing needs while promoting a positive, collaborative, and mission-focused team culture.
  • Coaches staff in Youth Development Strategies and best practices to promote positive youth outcomes.
Organizational Leadership
  • Maintains the health and safety of youth by ensuring staff are properly trained, facilities meet organizational expectations, and behavior management practices align with Boys amp; Girls Clubs standards.
  • Supports organizational initiatives, policies, and strategic priorities across the eastern region.
  • Upholds the organization's mission, values, and culture in all interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience supervising staff and leading youth programs, preferably serving middle school and high school youth.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated competence working with youth.
  • Experience in program management, staff leadership, partnership development, program implementation, and leading school age or teen programming.
  • Experience working with youth with special needs and/or requiring mental health services
  • Proficiency in using a variety of computer software applications, specifically Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities including supervisor of staff and children in program activities.
  • Reliable transportation, safe driving record, active driver’s license, and automobile insurance is required.
  • Position may require standing/sitting for extended periods of time, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist, and ability to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 20lbs.
