What you'll do

The Shopfloor IT Operations Specialist is responsible for the creation and management of support concepts, handling service tickets, and providing tier one support. The Specialist will report to the Manager Automation/Shopfloor IT.ย 

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:ย 

  • Establish an understanding of the shopfloor systems, including: the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Screw Data Management System, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and their Configuration, Monitoring, and Troubleshooting to ensure and maintain system integrity and performance.ย 
  • Hardware Configuration/troubleshooting: conduct the hardware configuration, such as Worker Guidance stations, Andon boards, and handheld devices.ย 
  • Labels and Printer Services: Oversee the management and maintenance of label and printer services.ย 
  • Creation of Support Concept: Develop and implement support strategies for shopfloor IT operations.ย 
  • Service Tickets & Tier One Support: Manage and resolve service tickets, providing first-level support for shopfloor IT issues.ย 
  • Audit/Reporting: Conduct audits and generate reports to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.ย 
  • Support for All Production Shifts: Provide IT support across all production shifts to ensure continuous operations.ย 
  • Cross Functionality: Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless IT operations on the shopfloor.ย 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.ย 
  • This role requires 5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.ย 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyย from time to time.

  • 4+ years of professional experience in industry (automotive production preferred).ย 
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or other technical fields.
  • 2+ years of Project management skills.ย 
  • Familiarization with Database, programming, and communication protocols.ย 
  • Knowledge in Production/Shopfloor systems and/or production systems such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Edge Computing, Torque Data Management System, or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a complex production and IT landscape in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to ensure operational efficiency.ย 
  • Basic knowledge about automation technology/PLCs and modern interface technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.ย 
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.ย 
  • Autonomous working approach.ย 
  • Willingness to travel internationally for training is required.ย 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Preferred:ย 

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Big Data analytics, ITIL Framework, and their application in improving shopfloor operations.ย 
  • Basic knowledge about robots, sensors, and torque systems.ย 
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains through the implementation of IT solutions and methodologies.ย 
  • Experiences from automotive (OEM and Tier 1).

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $100,000.00 - $125,000.00
