Job Description:

Manager of Ports Terminals and Dray Operations

Summary:

As a Manager of Ports Terminals and Dray Operations on the International Operations team you are a crucial part of our supply chain network, supporting the flow of goods from our ports of entry to our consolidation sites and our US DCs. You'll build the tools and provide the critical analysis to ensure we get the right product, to the right place, at the right time.

You will be assigned a mix of core responsibilities as well as special projects which will optimize logistics operational performance, drive cost savings and build the necessary tools and capabilities to support our continued growth:

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Port Authority and Terminal relationship management.
  • Facilitate weekly Port Authority and Terminal calls.
  • Responsible for dray provider relationship management and performance.
  • Manage exceptions and be the escalation point for all dray, ports, and terminal issues.
  • Continuously monitor freight volume and flow to ensure product arrives on time.
  • Implement new supply chain processes and improve current processes to positively impact freight flow.
  • Influence business partners and be the face of TJX.
  • Be a part of strategic special projects.

Minimal Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain preferred with 5-7 years' of applicable experience MBA preferred.
  • Previous experience work with US port authorities and terminals.
  • Previous experience managing dray providers.
  • Strong 3rd party management skills.
  • Strong analytical and excel skills. Able to use pivot tables and vlookups
  • Strong Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills; no day is the same in off-price retail, the ability to assess situations quickly and provide alternate solutions is key to success
  • Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment; product moves quickly through our supply chain network, it is important to react quickly to incoming requests.
  • A self-director who can manage their own timelines and set priorities
  • Ability to influence others without authority and an agile learner.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships; you are the face of TJX to many of our external strategic partners.
  • Flexible and adaptable; priorities change frequently based on business demands, the ability to change direction quickly is critical.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
