National Oak Distributors is seeking an Operations Manager at our Hartford distribution center. The selected candidate will join a high performing private business that applies best practice principles and logic to challenges and opportunities. We have an outstanding career opportunity for a driven, successful Operations Manager with a proven track record of increasing responsibility in the distribution/transportation fields. Successful candidates will handle the daily supervision of a warehouse crew and provide 'hands-on' support. The successful candidate should possess the highest level of integrity, a can-do attitude and promote teamwork.
Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling of staff based on workload
  • Running shifts with safety and efficiency as priorities
  • Maintain and report daily work logs to corporate office
  • Audit of daily labor and billing reports
  • Performance management of staff, including hiring, counseling and interpretation of State and Federal employment laws
  • Proactive demeanor and practitioner of continuous improvement using lean tools of 5S, 5 Why, Kaizen and one-piece flow

Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership and customer service skills
  • The ability to make decisions, problem solve, prioritize assignments and direct the workforce in an ever-changing warehouse environment
  • Microsoft Excel and Outlook experience a must
  • Proven track record in supervision of warehouse employees including hiring and training
  • Experience and ability to create and maintain various management reports
  • Knowledge of DOT/Hazmat, OSHA
