Facility Operations Specialist in Support of Workplace Design

  • Salary Range: $70K 115K, depending on experience.
  • Location: Washington, DC
  • Contract: Federal Government (Position Contingent Upon Award)
  • Clearance: Public Trust - Must be able to obtain a clearance with the US Government

Subject Matter Expert Tasks:

  • Resolving all matters regarding furniture, custodial, equipment, security, and safety from Service Desk incidents or emergency field events.
  • Manage facilities requests with the Building Management Office and Operations & Maintenance staff in all regions.
  • Provide inspection and oversight for building repairs and custodial needs.
  • Providing move oversight and move management efforts for relocation at Central Office and Fort Lauderdale.
  • Research and develop contacts, vendors, estimates, and scopes of work (SOW) for office/building functions, repairs, office equipment, supplies, and services (e.g., shred services, locksmith, air quality expert, camera/entry system)

Support Tasks:

  • Service Desk Portal monitoring and responding.
  • Input required information into space management software to manage leases/occupancy agreements, occupancy utilization, space management.
  • In-coming and Out-going mail monitoring and management.
  • Provide support for Central Office functions, such as stocking printers with paper, organizing service centers.
  • Providing access and escorting GSA or GSA contractors for preventive maintenance, repairs, surveys, etc.

Examples of Work This Role May Support:

  • Design, reconfiguration, relocation and increasing/downsizing of office space and similar facilities. Furniture, office equipment, and furnishings included.
  • Matters dealing with Consolidated Furniture Management Services (CFMS) to support all construction and leasing build out projects, alterations to improve space efficiency and space utilization projects, and updating of Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM).
  • Planning, programming, scheduling, and inspection of space management projects.
  • Development of reports, meetings, site inspections, and other appropriate means of documentation related to space planning, including assisting with the development of furniture plans, furniture specifications, timeline requirements, and presentations.
  • Project management tools to manage tasks, resources, schedules, budgets, and changes in scope.
  • Development of project plans and scope planning, the execution of design and construction, and the overall direction of the project.
  • Development of Statements of Work (SOW) and cost estimations for building and construction projects, relocations, and furniture projects for approval by the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) and Government Technical Monitors.
  • Planning, programming, scheduling, and management of resources for space relocations. Production of CAD drawings showing office layouts, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, etc. to use in planning reconfiguration of office and utility space within the facility.
  • Management of CAFM database information and produce reports and analyses that enable the client to monitor, audit, evaluate and modify the use of facility spaces to manage its property assets more efficiently and effectively.
  • Space walkthroughs and validate and update occupancy metrics in spreadsheets and database.
  • Management of logistics of interior renovations and furniture installations.
  • Development of feasibility studies, space forecasting, and building analyses.
  • Development of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) solutions for planning, architectural, and interior designs.
  • Managing services designing and installing systems for furniture and related inventories, including warehouse and property disposal management.
  • Planning, implementation, and allocation of resources and activities of facilities and capital construction projects to ensure project completion within timelines, contract specifications, and budget considerations.

What youll need to be considered:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree and equivalent work experience
    • Three (3+) or more years of experience with Facility Management / Project Management
    • Three (5+) or more years of experience in the relocation / move industry
    • Three (3+) or more years of experience with furniture / interior design projects
  • AutoCAD experience (preferred)
  • Project Manager and/or Program Manager Certification (preferred)
  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
