Job description

We are seeking a passionate and engaging Mandarin-speaking teacher to provide Mandarin language instruction to children twice per week. The ideal candidate will create a fun, immersive, and age-appropriate learning environment that encourages students to develop listening, speaking, reading, and cultural awareness skills in Mandarin Chinese.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver interactive Mandarin language lessons for children.
  • Introduce students to Mandarin vocabulary, pronunciation, basic conversation, songs, games, and cultural activities.
  • Create a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the developmental and learning needs of students.
  • Encourage participation and help students build confidence in speaking Mandarin.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents and/or program administrators as needed.
  • Prepare lesson materials and classroom activities.
  • Maintain classroom organization and ensure student safety at all times.
Qualifications
  • Native or fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker.
  • Previous experience teaching Mandarin to children preferred.
  • Ability to engage young learners through creative, hands-on activities.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Chinese Language, Linguistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Teaching certification or relevant language teaching experience is a plus.
Desired Skills
  • Experience working with young toddlers, early preschool and Pre-k.
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate language acquisition techniques.
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and nurturing personality.
  • Ability to incorporate Chinese culture, traditions, music, and stories into lessons.
