Job description

The Maintenance Planner Manager oversees the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all maintenance activities across assigned data centers and facilities. This role ensures that maintenance operations are executed efficiently, safely, and with minimal impact to business operations. The Maintenance Planner Manager will lead the maintenance planning team, manage CMMS systems, coordinate with internal departments and external vendors, and drive continuous improvement in maintenance execution and reliability.

What You Will Do:


Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Lead a team of remote based Planners that handle the planning and scheduling of all preventive and corrective maintenance activities across assigned facilities

  • Manage CMMS systems to ensure work orders are properly scheduled, tracked, and closed with accurate documentation

  • Develop and maintain master maintenance schedules and job plans to optimize labor, materials, and equipment usage

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and third-party vendors to ensure timely execution of maintenance tasks

  • Schedule and manage major and minor site outages, minimizing operational impact

Team & Vendor Coordination

  • Supervise maintenance planners and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback

  • Coordinate contracted labor and vendor support based on workload and skill requirements

  • Partner with third-party providers to ensure alignment with maintenance standards and procedures

Inventory & Asset Management

  • Oversee spare parts inventory, sourcing, and purchasing to ensure availability of critical components

  • Manage asset tracking and reporting systems to support maintenance planning and compliance

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Develop, revise, and implement SOPs and work plans for maintenance tasks

  • Conduct root cause analysis for reactive maintenance issues and lead cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions

  • Support environmental, safety, and quality initiatives through maintenance planning and execution

Customer & Stakeholder Support

  • Act as a liaison between maintenance and operations to ensure customer needs are met with minimal disruption

  • Provide reporting and documentation for audits, certifications, and compliance requirements


What We Are Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial or data center maintenance planning and scheduling operations

  • 3+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience

  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems, change management, and work order control procedures

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Advanced technical degree or certifications in maintenance planning or related field preferred. (equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree)

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Ability to lead and manage work groups effectively

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Customer-first mindset with a positive attitude

  • Fast-paced environment with occasional stress

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
