Job description

Manages and monitors performance of one major function in the Distribution center (which may include Shipping, Receiving, Returns and/or Inventory). Ensures standards of measurement for department are maintained and implements policies and procedures to reduce cost, enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality of work. Ensures enforcement of safety codes, OSHA standards and sound housekeeping practices within the department.
Hours: 3pm-11:30pm
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required:
  • Manages the activities under one major function ( i.e., shipping, receiving, returns and/or inventory control) within the LC.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Coaches and mentors associates for improved performance. - - Manages daily labor and cost. Assures all department SLA's are met.
  • Manages associates to achieve prescribed LC goals.
  • Maintains a productive team by creating programs to retain, train and develop associates.
  • Applies sound communications and motivational technigues in supervising, counseling and disciplining associates.
  • Coordinates training of new and existing associates.
  • Manages customer service aspect of the distribution center facility, both internally and externally to ensure order integrity, accuracy and timely shipment.
  • Handles all customer/vendor issues and problems.
  • Develops and recommends enhancements to system to improve operational efficiency, accuracy and customer service levels.
  • Enforces safety codes and OSHA standards.
  • Ensures sound housekeeping practices within the department.
  • Reconciles all payroll and attendance records. Ensures all Kronos records are accurate.
  • Performs other additional duties as assigned.
  • Meets attendance and punctuality standards.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution, cross dock, or supply chain environment preferred.
  • Experience working with parcel providers and knowledge of logistics processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, innovate, and assertively address needs and opportunities.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and coach others in skills development.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to drive tasks to completion.
  • Proficiency in preparing/analyzing reports and using relevant computer system applications.
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically, express ideas clearly, and convey necessary information.
  • Capacity to work under stress and pressure, meet deadlines, and transport up to 50 lbs.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
