Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney

Malapero Prisco & Klauber LLP is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join our growing practice in White Plains, NY. We are specifically seeking attorneys with 3+ years of direct insurance defense litigation experience who are ready to take ownership of their cases and manage matters from inception through resolution.


This opportunity is ideal for junior, mid-level and senior attorneys with a strong insurance defense background who value autonomy, flexibility and a collaborative work environment.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a caseload from inception through resolution
  • Draft and argue motions
  • Manage discovery and conduct depositions
  • Attend court appearances throughout NYC, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk
  • Work directly with clients and insurance carriers
  • Participate in trial preparation, mediations and settlement negotiations
  • Develop case strategy and take ownership of assigned matters

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of direct insurance defense litigation experience
  • Experience independently managing litigation matters
  • Active admission to the New York State Bar
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Strong legal writing, communication and case strategy skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Litigation Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is strongly preferred:

  • Insurance defense
  • Construction litigation
  • NYS Labor Law 200, 240 and 241
  • Premises liability
  • General liability litigation
  • Motion practice
  • Discovery and depositions


Compensation & Benefits

$85,000–$200,000, based on experience and qualifications

  • Junior Associate: $85,000 –$120,000
  • Senior Associate: $120,000 – $200,000 (MUST have Insurance Defense experience)
