Job Description

Job Summary:
The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of learning solutions across the region, primarily in the areas of leadership development, new hire orientation, performance management, talent planning, and special programs. This position is located in our Reston, VA or Houston, TX office.
This position is designated as part-time telework under Bechtel's global policy and requires a minimum of three days per week in person at the assigned office or project. Weekly schedules will be determined in coordination with the supervisor and functional leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
Support the delivery activities for the Talent Development (TD) / L&D and Special Programs at the Regional Level.
Deliver learning solutions at the regional level in areas including, but not limited to:
Leadership development
New hire orientation
Performance management
Talent planning
Special programs
Create an engaging learning environment and employ a variety of facilitation tools and techniques, including a discovery learning approach, to increase participation and ensure timely and high-quality delivery of learning objectives.
Liaise regularly and provide support to TD colleagues and assigned Business Partner/s to implement the overall TD strategy.
Support TD Specialists in the administration of assessment and feedback tools and other leadership tools as required for assigned region; may facilitate feedback meetings with coaching.
Work to continuously improve relevance, effectiveness, and delivery of talent related programs through evaluation, data analysis, and identification of improvement opportunities.
Complete ad hoc TD tasks as required.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated experience in delivery of training programs/learning solutions using facilitation and communication skills/techniques to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated experience in learning management system (LMS) administration, reporting, and tracking. SuccessFactors preferred but not required.
Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
Practitioner in at least one diagnostic tool (e.g. Insights Discovery, Clifton Strengths, 360, EBW, Hogan, MBTI) - preferred.
Intermediate proficiency in HRMS Systems tools and application (e.g. SAP, TalentWorks, and PowerBI) - preferred.
Intermediate proficiency working in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Data analytics skills and abilities.
Working knowledge of matrix organizational structure.
Professional HR or L&D certification - preferred.
Ability to travel 15-25%.
