POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Pay Estimate Administrator at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for preparation and processing of contractor pay estimates in accordance with the terms of the construction contract and related items including: processing received pay estimates, generating change orders if necessary in order to process, preparation and distribution of pay estimate documents at the beginning of a project; and communication with internal project managers and external contractors regarding the status of estimates.

 A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Receive and process pay estimates in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with Project Manager/Project Team regarding any items needed in order to process estimates.
  • Communicate with external contractors to request necessary documentation, or to communicate pay estimate status.
  • Prepare and distribute change orders if necessary.
  • Maintain pay estimate templates and documents.
  • Maintain tracking of pay estimates and change orders
  • Prepare Certificate of Completion for final pay estimates.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of pay estimates requirements present in each individual contract document.
  • Generate pay estimate information packet for contractors at project start.
  • Attend and participate in department status meetings.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree preferred

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience (construction and/or engineering field is preferred).
  • Software Requirements – Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

 IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and internal employees.
  • Strong proofreading, writing, and formatting skills.
  • Ability to read and understand contract requirements.
