Job description

Role:

Assists the Learning & Development Supervisor to plan and implement the credit union’s employee learning and development programs.  Ensures that ongoing development of all employees reflects the mission and vision of the credit union.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees.
  2. Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.
  3. Assists with formulating training outlines and plans to determine instructional methods, utilizing individual training, group instructions, demonstrations, and workshops.  
  4. Tracks the progress of employees through routine tests, observations, and feedback from supervisors.  
  5. Assists with evaluating the effectiveness of the current training plans.
  6. Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and re-training requirements.
  7. Creates and/or maintains training procedure manuals, training guides, handbooks, visual aids, tutorials, and course materials.
  8. Assists in meeting department objectives and goals.
  9. Assists in the administration of the LMS by assigning training, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion of all required regulatory and compliance courses across the organization.
  10. Stays up to date with new industry strategies and collaborates with team to create and implement innovative training methods.
  11. Assists with the planning and implementation of the annual all employee training day. 
  12. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Position Requirements:

  • A high school education or GED required.  A two-year college degree or specialized training preferred.  
  • Minimum of two years of adult training experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of credit union experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of lending experience preferred.
  • LMS platform experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills required.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
  • Experience with Articulate a plus.
  • Ability to analyze data for equitable resolutions.
  • Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work regular full-time hours.
  • Ability to work on-site at various designated locations.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service.  
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and able to operate a motor vehicle for travel to branch offices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Must be bondable

Ergonomic Considerations:

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time (6 to 7 hours per day).
  • Must be able to view a computer screen, use a keyboard to enter information, and manipulate a mouse.
  • Job includes some repetitive hand/wrist motions.
  • Ability to analyze data for equitable resolutions.
  • Ability to manage projects through to completion.
  • Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to operate office machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
