Job description

Amazon Compliance, Assurance & Privacy Services (CAPS) is seeking a manager to lead its Learning & Development team. This role owns the strategy, design, and delivery of L&D programs for security professionals across disciplines, internal events and conferences, as well as mandatory company-wide security awareness and compliance training initiatives.
You will manage a team of security training specialists and program managers responsible for building developmental learning experiences, executing large-scale compliance training rollouts, internal conferences and events, and standing up new programs from scratch. This requires a leader who can set strategic direction, deliver reliably at enterprise scale, and communicate effectively with senior leadership audiences.
You will own the L&D strategy end-to-end, from identifying organizational learning needs through program execution and impact measurement. You will define and build this function, set its strategic direction, and grow its impact across the organization. The scope and complexity of this portfolio provide a clear path to senior leadership for the right candidate.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 5-7 security training specialists and program managers across multiple locations; set clear direction, coach team members, and build a team that scales with the organization
- Own the overall program L&D strategy, working backwards from organizational priorities and data to build a coherent learning roadmap
- Build net-new programs and redesign existing ones based on business needs, learner feedback, and measurable outcomes
- Lead operational rollout of mandatory security awareness and compliance training programs across all of Amazon (1MM+ completions annually)
- Manage wave-based deployment, assignment tracking, and completion reporting against hard regulatory deadlines
- Drive behavior change at scale; success is measured by observable behavior shifts, not just completion rates.
- Address systemic participation barriers by designing programs that fit how people actually work
- Partner with business unit leaders to understand organizational challenges, goals, required improvements and providing training and program solutions to achieve these goals
- Communicate program strategy, goal progress, and risks to senior leadership audiences, including writing and presenting documents up to an SVP level audience
- Build mechanisms for measuring program impact: behavior change, skill application, and connection to business outcomes
- Partner with Amazon Security leadership, HR Business Partners, and adjacent L&D functions to ensure strategic alignment
