Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE: 
The Loss Prevention Training Manager supports store safety and loss prevention initiatives by leading onboarding, training, and readiness validation for Loss Prevention Agents and specialized Loss Prevention roles within an assigned geographic market. This role ensures team members are effectively trained to identify theft and fraud, follow company policies, and perform Loss Prevention responsibilities safely, consistently, and with sound judgment. The Manager partners with LP Field Leaders, Corporate Investigations, and internal stakeholders to deliver standardized training that reinforces incident detection, documentation, safety practices, escalation protocols, and compliance with applicable laws and company standards. This position helps promote a safe shopping and working environment while supporting operational consistency, accountability, and the Company's values of integrity, respect, accountability, learning, and humility.

The base pay range for this role is $81,000 - $121,800. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Lead and manage all onboarding, training, and certification activities for Loss Prevention Agents and specialized Loss Prevention roles within the assigned geographic market to ensure readiness and consistent execution. 
    Deliver instructor led, virtual, and in store training focused on theft and fraud detection, observation and engagement techniques, investigative processes, safety practices, and policy compliance. 
    Train team members on the compliant use of CCTV systems and investigative tools, including privacy considerations, access controls, retention standards, and proper escalation of sensitive footage.
    Provide hands on instruction in the use of reporting tools, and investigative resources to detect theft indicators, validate incidents, and support follow up investigations. 
    Ensure trainees demonstrate proficiency in incident documentation, evidence handling, and completion of clear, timely reports for leadership and Investigations teams
    Conduct field observations, scenario based training, and skills validations to assess performance, identify gaps, and confirm readiness to perform full job duties. 
    Define and track training effectiveness metrics, including readiness scores, incident quality, safety outcomes, policy adherence, and post-training performance indicators.
    Partner with LP Field Leaders and Corporate Investigations to identify training needs related to major theft incidents, emerging trends, specialized investigations, and operational vulnerabilities. 
    Develop and implement targeted coaching, retraining, or remediation plans to address performance or knowledge gaps and reinforce Loss Prevention standards. 
    Reinforce proper escalation protocols, including partnering with leadership and law enforcement to resolve theft cases and support apprehensions when authorized. 
    Maintain accurate training records, onboarding documentation, and readiness validations for all Loss Prevention roles within the market. 
    Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements to training materials, tools, and delivery methods to support loss prevention objectives. 
    Ensure all training content, certification processes, and field practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including but not limited to detention, trespass enforcement, surveillance, documentation, and evidence handling requirements.
    Perform additional duties as assigned to support loss prevention training, onboarding, and operational effectiveness objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
    BA degree or greater preferred, preferably in Business or Criminal Justice, or equivalent work experience.
    5 years experience in loss prevention, retail, or security.
    Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
    Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners including law enforcement
    Strong written and oral communication skills
    Demonstrated ability to build and maintain working relationships with associates at all levels of the organization
    Excellent customer service skills
    Demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve with the proper sense of urgency
    Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing as required
    Ability to make quality judgment in little to no response time

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. 
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. 
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.  
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.  #LI-hybrid
