Job description

Do you have a passion for preventing theft and the skills to investigate losses? If so, you could be the trusted, reliable individual we'd like to join us as a Part-time Loss Prevention Representative in the St. Louis area.

As part of our Loss Prevention Team, you will utilize our state-of-the-art monitoring station to monitor stores during business hours. Through various resources, you will discover and deter shoplifters in an effective and professional manner. Our ideal candidate is independent, decisive, detail-oriented, and has time management skills.

How You'll Make an Impact

       Monitor store activity and detect suspicious behavior using video surveillance.

       Walk the sales floor, when needed, posing as a shopper to observe and deter theft.

       Identify, detain, and investigate shoplifting incidents in a professional manner.

       Partner with store leadership to resolve incidents and maintain safety.

       Communicate with law enforcement and serve as a representative of Dierbergs' security team.

       Prepare documentation and secure evidence related to theft or property damage.

       Provide training and guidance to associates on loss prevention best practices.

       Conduct audits and reviews of store procedures and video footage.

       Appear in court as needed to provide testimony.

About You

       A strong interest in loss prevention is essential; monitoring and loss prevention experience is preferred.

       Backgrounds in criminal justice, corrections, security, or dispatch are often a great match.

       Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.

       Yearly licensing by St. Louis County/St. Charles County is required.

       Must be at least 21 years of age, with a driver's license and personal vehicle to travel between locations when needed (we pay mileage between stores).

       Ability to stand or walk for long periods and remain alert and focused in a monitoring setting.

       You must be alert, self-motivated and be able to maintain focus inside the monitoring station.

       Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with diverse individuals.

       All duties to be performed according to the established standard and in compliance with all company policies and procedures while maintaining regular, prompt attendance and availability to work outside of standard business hours.
