Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer Analyst to lead the design, development, and optimization of our ServiceNow platform. This role is responsible for driving platform enhancements, delivering scalable solutions, and partnering with business stakeholders to maximize the value of ServiceNow across the organization.
In this role, you will serve as a technical expert, translating business requirements into innovative applications and workflows. This individual will play a key role in maintaining platform integrity, implementing best practices, and collaborating with other teams while ensuring alignment with enterprise IT strategy.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Serves as a subject matter expert to the ServiceNow platform team responsible for analysis, design, development, and implementation of modules and applications on ServiceNow.
  • Receives technical requests from leadership, end users, or business departments. Assists manager with evaluating requests for feasibility and prioritizing business needs.
  • Responsible for managing the Agile development process for the ServiceNow team, to include defining Agile roles, providing guidance to define level of effort for development, and communicating development expectations as needed.
  • Identifies, documents, assigns, and properly communicates sprint work, testing, release schedules, and updates.
  • Leads and manages ServiceNow updates and upgrades to include new feature implementations. Ensures proper road mapping and testing have been completed prior to release.
  • Works with internal and external technical teams to ensure outcomes are delivered on time and within scope, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Continually drives for operational improvements and efficiencies.
  • Defines programming standards for the team and provides guidance on ServiceNow platform coding best practices.

Leads the analysis process to leverage the ServiceNow tool, to create solutions for business technical challenges, and fully leverage tool capabilities.
  • Proactively performs detailed analysis to identify areas of improvement with Boys Town technical processes and look for opportunity to fully integrate ServiceNow functions.
  • Identifies ServiceNow reliability and performance improvements; adjusts and optimizes the production systems to improve customer experience.
  • Collaborates with other internal IT departments to provide technical expertise and support for key technical initiatives.
  • Works closely with team members and stakeholders to determine business need scope, configure, test, document, and deploy changes to the environment, while ensuring the system remains healthy and functions efficiently.
  • Tracks, prioritizes, and implements integration requests and bug fixes, leveraging formal release and change management processes. On-call duties are included as part of this position.
  • Configures, develops, implements, and maintains multiple ServiceNow modules including, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management, Request Management, Service Catalog, Custom Business Applications, and Service Portal.
  • Partners with leadership to socialize architecture and development best practices within ServiceNow across a shared environment.
  • Configures ServiceNow applications, including creating workflows, writing JavaScript, optimizing the UI, and managing groups and roles to meet user requirements.
  • Maintains in-depth technical and functional knowledge applicable to the ServiceNow platform. Provides training, consultation, and development opportunities for team members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, team-oriented, collaborative environment and to meet deadlines and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to learn and communicate new technologies, as they relate to the ongoing improvement of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Extensive knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform, with a focus on demand and project portfolio suite.
  • Deep understanding of system and ITSM core configurations in ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of implementations and/or migrations to the ServiceNow platform.
  • Proficient in JavaScript and HTML.
  • Ability to integrate third-party software and APIs with ServiceNow using REST and SOAP.
  • Knowledge of accurate task breakdown/estimation, unit testing, and delivering on time and in scope.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and oral communication skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow, including development, configuration, integration, and implementation with an advanced knowledge of the platform required.
  • Previous experience with Agile project management methodologies and the software development lifecycle required.
  • Available to participate in weekend on-call rotation and off hours production releases required.
  • At least one of these certifications: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist Certification, ServiceNow Certified Application Developer Certification, or ServiceNow Certified System Administrator Certification required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • ITIL Foundation, Practitioner Certification preferred.
