By integrating comprehensive engineering services and first-in-class modular fabrication capacity with complete construction services, Propak designs and builds industry-leading hydrocarbon processing facilities for installation around the world.

At Propak, we offer EITs opportunities to gain hands-on experience in project execution from design to operation, taking on challenging assignments that will help them gain expertise and build their careers.

The OTSG Project EIT assists Project Engineers and Engineering Managers in the coordination of project execution in accordance with client requirements and objectives, within cost and schedule constraints, and in quality procedures and practices. This position uses a variety of standard problem-solving techniques while handling assignments of limited scope and complexity. The position is responsible for applying technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices to support design, fabrication, construction and commissioning of oil and gas facilities all over the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply practical knowledge and develop a broad base of skills, while contributing to the overall success of Propak’s operations through interaction with a cross-functional team;
  • Coordinate specific multi-discipline functions or areas within the project scope, encompassing engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning (as applicable);
  • Assist with management of interfaces with key project stakeholders;
  • Work with senior project managers to ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget, and according to contract requirements;
  • Assist with management of project scope and coordinate change management submissions and processes;
  • Participate in Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) reviews and Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs);
  • Prepare and maintain line, equipment, instrumentation, and specialty items lists;
  • Coordinate and assist with the sizing and selection of the project’s valves, instrumentation, and process equipment;
  • Participate in Bid / Evaluate / Award process;
  • Interact with purchasing and expediting to follow up on buyouts;
  • Review and approve vendor drawings and documents;
  • Review and approve fabrication drawings;
  • Participate in 3D model reviews and construction planning meetings;
  • Coordinate and review the compilation of Project Data and Operating Manuals for distribution to the project team and client;
  • Perform shop inspections and resolve technical issues;
  • Review ship loose lists;
  • Assist with resolutions of shop and field Requests for Information (RFIs).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with APEGA
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated aptitude in project management
  • Ability to apply appropriate theoretical and practical engineering principles to solve problems
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Flexible and able to meet objectives while working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and strict deadlines
  • Ability to anticipate the effects of change and plan accordingly
  • Superior interpersonal, verbal, written, and graphical communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
  • Excellent reading, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and utilize complex information
  • Understanding of complex verbal and written instructions
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills
