Job description

We are looking for an experienced Finance Transformation Manager to lead a high-impact initiative focused on strengthening warranty and claims operations for a manufacturing organization in Minnesota. This Long-term Contract position will guide the assessment of current financial and operational practices, uncover improvement opportunities, and shape a more effective model for reserve management, claims administration, and reporting. The role calls for a senior specialist who can combine accounting insight, financial planning expertise, process evaluation, and project leadership to drive practical, sustainable results across multiple business functions.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the end-to-end warranty and claims transformation effort, coordinating priorities, timelines, and stakeholder alignment across the project.
• Examine warranty reserves, liability balances, and accrual approaches to determine whether financial treatment is accurate, supportable, and scalable.
• Evaluate claim activity, usage patterns, and reporting outcomes to identify trends that affect forecasting, reserves, and overall financial performance.
• Partner with Accounting and FP& A leaders to refine forecasting assumptions, quantify business impact, and strengthen financial decision-making.
• Assess how the shift from insured coverage to a self-insured structure affects accounting practices and recommend any needed adjustments.
• Review current claims workflows, controls, and ownership structures to improve efficiency, accountability, and process consistency.
• Document existing processes, data movement, stakeholder roles, and key decision points to create a clear view of the current operating environment.
• Analyze supporting systems and data inputs across platforms such as Oracle, Tavant, Salesforce, and OneStream to identify gaps and integration concerns.
• Develop a future-state framework that includes governance, process documentation, performance measures, and actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Present findings, progress updates, and strategic recommendations to finance executives and other senior stakeholders.• 7+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, FP& A, finance transformation, or a closely related area.
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, reserve analysis, warranty-related accounting, and financial reporting principles.
• Proven ability to assess complex business processes and translate findings into practical operational improvements.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving finance, operations, and other business partners.
• Solid background in financial analysis, forecasting, modeling, and month-end close activities.
• Familiarity with claims processing, insurance claims, rebate programs, order-to-cash workflows, or similar operational finance functions.
• Strong project management, documentation, facilitation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to influence decision-making across multiple organizational levels and functions.
