Job description

**SIGN ON BONUS**

Good Shepherd Fence Company is looking for a talented and self-starting Fence Installation Foreman to take the lead on fence construction projects, holding daily meetings with employees โ€“ reminding them of safety protocols and resolving problems and conflicts as they may arise. They coordinate with other crew supervisors to ensure progress is happening on schedule. You need organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills for success in this position. A good Site Supervisor candidate is a reliable, hard-working person with a background in the trades. He or she should be able to read and interpret plans, as well as practice active listening and stress management. They should also ensure that sites are free from waste before you leave.

  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel.
  • Verify that all parts, materials and tools needed for project installation are loaded on the truck prior to going to the assigned job site.
  • Highly experienced in fence installation and repairs of all types (chain link, wood, ornamental, PVC, temporary, gates, etc.)
  • Make decisions on how to conduct the installation of the project including where to install the terminations based on boundaries.
  • Measure and lay out fence lines and mark posthole positions, following instructions, shop drawings, blueprints or specifications.
  • Assist in recruiting, mentoring, managing, and training employees.
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities and individual projects to the crew and contractors.
  • Emphasis on the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment including training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures.
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on-site quickly and amicably.
  • Report project status to supervisors, site engineers and officials regularly.
  • Able to read blueprints and/or contracts.
  • Ability to work in high-stress conditions and quickly changing environments.
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Lead others by example.

Fence Install Foreman Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driverโ€™s license***
  • Prior fence building, construction, or carpentry experience preferred.*
  • Proven experience working as a Site Supervisor, Foreman, Team Lead, or people leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of power tools, construction tools, and equipment.
  • The ability to interpret job bids and determine necessary: tools, supplies, and equipment needed.
  • Regularly required to move around, use hands, use feet to walk, stand for long periods of time, and push/pull/lift/move up to 75+ pounds unassisted.
  • Outstanding leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Preferred CPR and basic first aid certifications.
