Job description


The Senior Manager of the North America Sustainability Promotion (NASP) department will lead the organization's efforts to achieve carbon neutrality and promote sustainable practices across North America. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives, overseeing stakeholder engagement, and ensuring compliance with sustainability standards. The Senior Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in sustainability performance and foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the NASP mission to guide North America towards carbon neutrality by implementing sustainable initiatives.
    • Lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive roadmap for achieving DENSO's carbon neutrality targets, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Team Management:
    • Oversee the performance and development of the NASP team, including mentoring and coaching team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages engagement and accountability.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, industry organizations, and regulatory bodies, to promote sustainability initiatives.
    • Drive initiatives to increase awareness and adoption of sustainability practices across DENSO's production sites.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of sustainability metrics, including carbon emissions, energy consumption, and other key performance indicators.
    • Ensure that reporting processes meet internal and external requirements, providing transparency and accountability in sustainability efforts.
  • Governance and Compliance:
    • Develop and implement sustainability governance frameworks and processes to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with the Carbon Neutrality and Energy Governance Lead to enforce sustainability standards and best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and promote emerging sustainable technologies and practices that can enhance DENSO's environmental performance.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize energy use, reduce emissions, and enhance overall sustainability performance across all operations.
  • Training and Capacity Building:
    • Develop training programs to enhance employee understanding of sustainability initiatives and their role in achieving organizational goals.
    • Promote a culture of sustainability within the organization by providing resources and support for employee engagement in sustainability efforts.
  • Communication Required:
    • Effectively communicate sustainability goals, initiatives, and performance to all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders to report on progress and advocate for sustainability initiatives.
  • Problem Solving and Analysis:
    • Analyze complex sustainability challenges and develop innovative solutions that align with organizational objectives.
    • Facilitate discussions and decision-making processes related to sustainability initiatives, ensuring stakeholder input and buy-in.
  • Judgment and Decision Making:
    • Exercise sound judgment in prioritizing sustainability initiatives and allocating resources effectively.
    • Make informed decisions that align with DENSO's sustainability strategy and operational goals

Experience:
  • 3 to 5yrs of experience leading sustainability teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scope 1,2,3.
  • Experience with implementing digital accounting systems.

Preferred Knowledge:
  • Government [State, Federal & International] & Regulatory ESG
