The Sea, Land, Air Analysis Group's mission is to deliver objective analyses, plans and strategies to US Navy, US Marine Corps, USAF, other DoD, and Australian Defence Force clients to support technology development, acquisition, delivery and sustainment decisions. The group provides the core of SPA thought leadership on Undersea Strategy, Software Development and Cost Estimating, with additional benchmark capabilities in AI/ML & Decision Analytics, Modeling and Simulation, and Future Force Assessments.
SPA has a need for a Database Administrator to manage and optimize databases supporting FCP, APACS, and related applications. This role safeguards data integrity and performance across complex, mission-critical datasets.
Responsibilities
The Database Administrator installs, configures, and maintains database instances and associated tools. They perform performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security administration for databases across multiple environments. They collaborate with developers and analysts on schema design, queries, and data integration. They also help design and implement data archival, replication, and continuity strategies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience administering relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
  • Strong skills in performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
  • Experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability configurations
  • Active Secret clearance

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with large, transactional web applications and high-volume user bases
  • Familiarity with data modeling and ETL or reporting tools
