Job Summary: The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that all guests receive exceptional service and that the staff performs their duties efficiently. This role involves supervising front-of-house staff, managing service quality, handling customer complaints, and assisting with administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Supervision: Oversee and coordinate the activities of the front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, bartenders, and bussers. Assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure that service standards are consistently met.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that guests have a positive dining experience by providing excellent service, addressing any issues or complaints promptly, and ensuring that all customer needs are met.
  • Training and Development: Train new staff on the restaurant’s service standards, procedures, and policies. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff to improve performance and maintain high service levels.
  • Shift Management: Prepare work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels during peak times and managing shift changes smoothly. Monitor staff attendance and address any issues related to punctuality or absenteeism.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of food and beverages served, working closely with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure consistency in presentation and taste. Address any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that the restaurant complies with all health and safety regulations, including food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards. Conduct regular inspections and address any violations immediately.

  • Cost Control: Monitor and help control operational costs, including labor, supplies, and utilities. Suggest and implement measures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
