Job description

About the Role

Magic Eden became one of the fastest companies in history to reach unicorn status, just 9 months after launch. We're now turning that momentum toward Dicey, a crypto-native casino and sportsbook platform we're building entirely in-house, not white-labeling someone else's tech.

We're looking for a detail-obsessed, commercially-aware finance professional to own tax and compliance across the group. This high-ownership role covers multi-entity tax compliance, PFIC considerations, intercompany and crypto treasury governance, and oversight of AP, payroll, and external accounting providers across jurisdictions. It reports directly to the Head of Finance.

Our core footprint spans the US, Cayman Islands, and Costa Rica, with touchpoints in the UK and Australia. This role suits someone comfortable in a fast-changing, high-growth environment who can build strong compliance foundations without slowing the business down.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance

  • Own tax compliance across all group entities (US, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, with lighter UK/AU oversight), managing PFIC reporting and evolving obligations as the business expands into new jurisdictions

  • Partner with external tax advisors to ensure filings, elections, and disclosures are accurate and on time

Intercompany & Treasury

  • Manage intercompany loan agreements, balances, and settlements across entities, maintaining documentation, transfer pricing considerations, and reconciliations

  • Oversee crypto treasury compliance (wallet/exchange reconciliation, FMV recording) and maintain visibility into cash and crypto positions group-wide

Multi-Entity, Multi-Jurisdiction Compliance

  • Act as the finance owner for statutory and regulatory compliance across the group's entities

  • Ensure local statutory filings, audits, and regulatory requirements are met in each jurisdiction the business operates in

  • Identify and mitigate compliance risk as the business continues to grow and expand into new markets

AP & Payroll Oversight

  • Oversee AP processes (day-to-day owned by outsourced contractors) and own payroll across all entities and jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local employment and tax regulations

External Accounting Support Management

  • Serve as primary point of contact for external accounting firms and outsourced finance providers, managing deliverables, quality, and timelines across entities

  • Identify opportunities to bring processes in-house or improve external support arrangements as the business scales

What We're Looking For
  • CA/CPA qualified with relevant post-qualification tax and compliance experience; exposure to US, Cayman Islands, or Costa Rica structures ideal

  • 6+ years in Big 4 Audit/Consulting, including 2+ years PFIC experience

  • Strong international tax knowledge, with PFIC rules/reporting experience preferred

  • Experience with intercompany loan structures and related compliance/documentation

  • Exposure to crypto/digital asset treasury and reconciliation a plus

  • Experience operating across multiple entities/jurisdictions in a high-growth environment

  • Experience overseeing payroll and accounts payable functions

  • Comfortable managing external accounting firms/outsourced providers to a high standard

  • Strong Excel skills; Campfire experience advantageous

What Success Looks Like
  • Tax filings and PFIC reporting completed accurately and on time across all entities

  • Intercompany loans and crypto treasury positions reconciled, documented, and audit-ready

  • No compliance surprises across jurisdictions, risks are identified and managed proactively

  • AP and payroll run smoothly across the group with strong controls

  • External accounting partners deliver consistent, high-quality, on-time work

What You Get
  • A fast-paced and collaborative environment

  • Competitive compensation and equity package

  • Flexible PTO

  • Remote-first company
