Who We Are

Arizona Center for Empowerment (ACE) and Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA) are leading grassroots organizations dedicated to social, racial, and economic justice. ACE focuses on civic engagement, leadership development, and advocacy for working-class and immigrant communities, while LUCHA organizes low- and moderate-income families, particularly Black and Brown communities, to fight for progressive policy changes and political power in Arizona.

Through organizing, policy advocacy, and strategic communications, we've played a critical role in shaping Arizona's political landscape-electing progressive leaders, advancing immigrant rights, securing higher wages, and mobilizing voters to defend democracy.

Why You'll Love This Fellowship

The Barrio Leader Fellowship (BLF) is a 4-month, full-time, paid program designed to train Arizona's next generation of power-builders and community-rooted leaders, individuals who are strategic, grounded, and serious about transforming what's possible for our communities.

Our barrios, our neighborhoods are under attack. Families are being torn apart by immigration enforcement, our freedom of speech is under threat, parents are struggling to afford housing, working people are losing access to healthcare, and local public schools are being shut down. Despite these challenges, we remain committed to the vision and values behind The Arizona We Deserve.

As a BOF Fellow, you'll be responsible for organizing a neighborhood team of like-minded individuals who share this vision. Together, these teams, led by directly impacted leaders will develop policy and community-based solutions that move us closer to an Arizona where everyone can live a joyful, abundant, and thriving life.
