Job description

Position: Insurance Coverage Attorney
Location: Bloomfield Hills, MI
Plunkett Cooney is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join the firm. The Insurance Coverage Practice Group consults with and represents insurance carriers with respect to coverage analysis and opinions and coverage/bad faith litigation. This is not a PIP litigation position, nor does it involve retention by insurers to represent insureds in litigation.
The preferred candidate will be an experienced and versatile attorney, who has demonstrated the ability to analyze and resolve complex legal issues.
Preferred candidates should have:
  • Five or more years of experience in the areas of insurance coverage or other complex litigation
  • Experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions, taking depositions, and arguing motions
  • Excellent client service
  • Excellent research, legal brief writing and communication skills are required
  • Strong analytical, research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Comfort level with learning new computer software
  • A J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
  • Good standing in and an active member of the State Bar of Michigan
