Job description

Position Title: Manager Asset Inventory Operations
Location: HOUSTON TX
FLSA Class: EXEMPT
Responsible to: Senior Manager Asset Operations

Position Summary: The Manager, Asset Inventory Operations is responsible for maintaining enterprise-wide visibility, accuracy, and accountability for all operational assets throughout their lifecycle. This role oversees inventory reporting, asset tracking initiatives, compliance processes, and operational reporting to ensure reliable asset data across the organization. As the asset fleet continues to grow, this position will serve as the central owner of inventory integrity, lifecycle management, and accountability programs while developing scalable processes and reporting structures. Over time, this role is expected to lead the Asset Coordinator and Asset Compliance & Audit Specialist functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Asset Inventory Management

  • Maintain ownership of asset inventory accuracy across all operational locations.
  • Develop and manage processes for asset lifecycle status tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate asset records from acquisition through deployment, redeployment, and retirement.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and data integrity issues.

Asset Tracking & Visibility

  • Lead asset movement tracking initiatives and escalation processes.
  • Oversee GPS tracking systems and asset location visibility programs.
  • Coordinate with field operations, logistics, and deployment teams to maintain current asset status
    information.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts for asset tracking technologies and processes.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain inventory dashboards, KPIs, and operational reports.
  • Provide leadership with accurate asset utilization, deployment, and lifecycle reporting.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis.
  • Support forecasting and operational planning activities.

Compliance & Accountability

  • Establish accountability standards for asset management and reporting.
  • Coordinate asset audit programs and inventory verification initiatives.
  • Support investigations related to missing, misplaced, or unaccounted-for assets.
  • Ensure compliance with internal asset management policies and procedures.

Leadership & Process Development

  • Manage and mentor inventory and compliance personnel as the team grows.
  • Develop scalable inventory management processes and controls.
  • Partner with operations, finance, procurement, and field teams to improve asset accountability.
  • Lead inventory-related continuous improvement initiatives.

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field;
    equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of inventory management, asset management, logistics, or operations experience.
  • Experience developing operational reporting and KPI programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and inventory management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing large fleets of industrial, energy, or operational assets.
  • Knowledge of GPS tracking platforms and asset management software.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems and data analytics tool
