THE TEAM:
The purpose of the Business Solutions Team (BST) is to support the Kinexus Group family of subsidiaries, utilizing a "Team of Teams" approach. Centering business as the customer, the team is focused on building an ecosystem of resources that support business needs and improve the overall supply of readily available talent for employers.
OUR DESIRED OUTCOMES:
The Apprenticeship Program Coordinator is an integral part of the Business Solutions Team, helping to manage and coordinate apprenticeship and grant related activities to support the Business Solutions Manager's (BSM'S). The core responsibility of this person will be to manage the internal and external aspects of apprenticeship related activities of the Business Solutions Team in partnership with the wider team.
The Apprenticeship Program Coordinator's primary responsibility is to build and manage apprenticeships by developing workflow processes and related technical instruction. This person will support the BSM's apprenticeship outreach activities by managing all administrative tasks related to growing and maintaining successful apprenticeship programs for MW! BCVB. This role will work closely with the Michigan Works! Talent Team to coordinate services on behalf of employers, ensuring apprenticeship participants are enrolled in all appropriate programs to maximize value to the participant and employer.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
The Apprenticeship Program Coordinator is detail oriented, organized, and demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset. This role requires working on multiple projects simultaneously and acting as a problem solver to develop apprenticeship programs. They will be a subject matter expert and provide guidance and support to colleagues while implementing the apprenticeship strategy. Internally, this person is a key collaborator with leaders and staff across the Kinexus Group family, demonstrating analytical abilities with a high level of critical thinking and problem solving.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • In coordination with the Kinexus Group, manages U.S. Department of Labor relationship, compliance, and reporting duties.
  • Manages data is the state apprenticeship systems for both internal and external as needed.
  • Coordinates training and supportive services with internal teams for apprenticeship services.
  • Develops and creates new apprenticeship programs based on employer needs.
  • Enroll participants in apprenticeship programs and case manage them to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Takes an active role in providing and sharing apprenticeship education for a variety of external partners.
  • Works alongside the BSM's to support the strategy and grow the apprenticeship service.
  • Researches potential Related Training Instruction (RTI) partners to help grow the capacity of the apprenticeship program.
  • Researches best practices across Michigan and Nation to enhance and grow the apprenticeship opportunities to support local businesses.
  • Manages the internal referral process working alongside the talent department.
  • Manages the Business Solution Team's referrals for apprenticeships and Go Pro Talent Fund and support BSM's as needed.
  • Provides grant administrative support as needed, including but not limited to, Going Pro Talent Fund.
  • Leverages Salesforce as the CRM for data management to learn from data and to make continuous improvements within the BST.
  • Works alongside BSM's to ensure smooth relationship management with local employers.
  • Assists with developing a communication strategy for apprenticeships.
  • Identifies grant funding to support identified company needs.
  • Collaborates on sector level activities and events related to apprenticeships.
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relations with the business and industry community keeping customer satisfaction as a guiding factor.
  • Highly technological, software-oriented expertise, understanding of customer relationship management software desired.
  • Private sector perspective; management maturity; Grant management experience.
  • Project Management and ability to lead teams.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Windows and Microsoft programs.
  • Must be able to build consensus among managers and staff representing diverse organizations partnering in the workforce development system.
  • Must be knowledgeable of workforce development program operations and designs.
  • Must have effective oral, written, personal and telephone communication skills.
  • Exhibit professionalism in all work-related relationships with people of all social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • An emphasis on building and maintaining quality working relationships is essential to the position and requires managing multiple projects from conception to completion.
  • Experience working in public relations, recruiting, coordinating services and B2B outreach.
  • Strong collaboration within a team environment.
