The Application Developer 1 position is part of the Enterprise Applications - Development & Integrations team, which focuses on implementing innovative technology solutions. Our team focuses on application development, geographic information systems, and enterprise reporting to streamline county business, thereby ensuring operational stability and business continuity. In this position, you will work on complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions. The ideal candidate for this role is a high energy and skilled professional that is quick to learn new tools and technical concepts. This position requires solid application development using Agile methodologies and understand the complete software development lifecycle. The right person for this role thrives in a team setting but can also work solo when needed. We're looking for a talented and experienced application developer to spearhead our application development process and support the maintenance of our existing apps. Responsibilities
Required Tasks
  • Assist in developing system processes, standards, and documentation for the Enterprise Applications Development & Integrations team.
  • Find solutions to security threats, viruses, or errors that might hinder the performance of applications.
  • Closely follow the application lifecycle to ensure necessary updates are completed on time.
  • Manage user access to various platforms and applications across the development space.
  • Maintain existing applications, develop new applications and features across a variety of application platforms.
  • Provide enterprise level support for our catalog of custom applications.
  • Research and connect API endpoints to pull in necessary information for current and future software applications.
  • Develop solutions and assist with migrations to cloud based platforms.
  • Operationally support and maintain our SaaS based and IaaS based platforms.
  • Support the currently deployed SaaS and IaaS based vendor solutions.
  • Identify, automate, and validate the extraction of new data from a variety of sources for reporting purposes.
  • Complete tasks with a sense of urgency to a satisfactory outcome.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Educational and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline, AND Two (2) years of technical-focused support experience with backend application and front-end web development.
Preferred Experience:
  • Proven experience writing applications using C#, .NET, .NET Core, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Python.
  • Experience with analysis, services, and mapping applications.
  • Experience working with API endpoints to pull in information from multiple applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS applications and software support, specifically ArcGIS Enterprise Portal; SQL database administration.
  • Previous experience using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Apex and Oracle Visual Builder preferred.
  • Experience with administration and report creation using Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting, Power BI, and WebFocus.
  • Proficiency with project tracking software, such as Jira.
  • Experience working as part of a development team.
  • Experience managing multiple projects at a time.
