Job description

Job Title: Project Manager (Application Development)
Location: Lansing, MI (hybrid)
Duration:ย 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
IV Process: Video Interview

This individual will oversee multiple application development-relatedย projects

Must Have:

  • Solid PM background within Agile environments
  • Must have led application development relatedย projects
  • Would prefer to find someone who has managed multipleย projects at a time

Job Summary:ย 

To plan, organize, and manage one or more small to medium sizedย projects to meet defined requirements or businessย objectives.ย 

Primary Job Responsibilities:ย 

1. Createsย projectย plans, defines scope, creates budgets and timelines,ย identifiesย staffing and other resource needs, prioritizes tasks, creates roadmaps, defines strategy,ย identifiesย and documents technical and business needs, develops risk mitigation plans, and ensuresย projectย objectivesย meet the defined business requirements.ย 

2. Executesย projectย plans by overseeing staff assignments,ย facilitatingย meetings with theย projectย team and end users to define and document technical solutions, engages external vendors as necessary, and executes operational readiness activitiesย 

3. Monitors and tracks the progress ofย projectย deliverables across multiple Agile teams and business units and focuses on regular andย timelyย delivery of value to ensure that established cost, time, and quality goals are met.ย 

4. Communicatesย projectย status with key stakeholders as needed, leadsย projectย team meetings as needed to assessย projectย progress, prepares and distributes ongoing status updates, escalates issues and risk asย appropriate, and manages and documents change.ย ย 
5. Coordinatesย projectย activities and process definition with the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office and other departments as necessary to improveย projectย team performance and ensure documentation requirements and formats adhere to corporate standardsย 
6.ย Provides assistance, consultation, and mentoring to otherย projectย teams and Enterprise Portfolio Management Office staff.ย 
7. Utilize PPM and Agile tools to track and measureย projectย and team progress, productivity, and individual performance.ย 

Minimum Qualifications:ย 

Position requires a bachelorโ€™s degree with relevant coursework in business or computer science and five years' related work experience inย projectย management with prior experience in systems development or support. Certification or advance degree inย projectย management (i.e.,ย Mastersย Certificate inย Projectย Management or PMP/PMI-ACP-certification) is preferred.ย ย Basic knowledge of both Agile and traditionalย projectย management principles and practice is required.ย ย Experience working within aย SAFeย environment is preferred.ย 

Position requires advanced leadership skills; ability to analyze and resolve complex problems; use independent judgment and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.ย ย ย
