Job description

Schedule: 6:45 pm - 7:15 am

The B Operator position is responsible for safely manufacturing resin batches which meet customer quality requirements by executing job functions as specified in plant/batch procedures and training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Follow batch cards to weigh additives and compound resin batches in thinning kettles or blend tanks
  • Make resin transfers from vessel to vessel per the batch card through the computer control system.
  • Load/operate tank trucks and package materials into containers for shipment
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Participate in PSM related reviews (hazard analyses, safety review, etc.)
  • Double check accuracy of batch cards and input batch information into computer system
  • Work independently and perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Make suggestions that improve safety, quality and productivity
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Punctuality and regularity of attendance are job requirements
  • Maintain a clean work environment and perform housekeeping duties as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • General or chemical manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have ability to learn to drive a yard dog/tanker truck on site premises
  • Must have ability to learn to drive a forklift and learn how to a pallet jack
  • Must have the ability to learn computer and process control systems.
  • Good reading and math skills, able to make simple calculations and follow written procedures
  • Must be able to wear proper safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel toe boots, respirator masks, dust mask, fire resistant clothing, neoprene/latex gloves and hard hats
  • Ability to hear to a variety of warning sounds such as fire alarm, forklift horns, kettle alarms, etc.
  • Willingness to stand and work on feet and not afraid of heights
  • Ability to work with and around a variety of chemicals
